Beverly Quam


On May 30, 2018, Beverly Faye Quam Severson, 86, peaceful passed away at an assisted living facility in Casa Grande, AZ. She resided there for a little over a year after suffering a fall.

Beverly was born in Moorhead, MN on Oct. 17, 1931 to the late Goedeo and Grace Quam and graduated the year 1949 from the Barnsville High School as valedictorian. Later she went on to get a Bachelors and two Master degrees in French and Music from Moorhead State University, Moorhead, MN.

On June 30, 1949, she was married to Kenneth Severson and had four children, Pam, deceased; Debra (Richard Miske) of Arnolds Park, IA; Steven (Debra) of Casa Grande, AZ and Mark (Debbie Jo) of Maricopa, AZ.

Beverly worked in many places including being a teacher at the University school and Control Data Online Education Division in Edina, MN. Later, she moved to Apache Junction, AZ in 2007 to spend time with her daughter, Pam and their dog, Tulip. Beverly was an avid reader, followed political shows and loved to cheer for the Minnesota Twins. In 2017, she moved to Caliche Senior Living facility in Casa Grande.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her three children. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Stephanie (Christopher) Wohnsetler of Fishers, IN; Kevin Severson, Tucson, AZ; and Bailey, Cory, and Sydney Severson, Maricopa, AZ. Additionally, she has one brother, Robert Quam, (Gail) of Excelsior, MN.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, her parents, her husband, one sister, Shirley, of Dallas, TX and one brother, Pat, Dallas, TX.

There will be a memorial service at Caliche Senior Living to share her memory. At a future date, there will be a family committal service at the graveside in Hawley, MN.
