James Richard ‘Jim’ Leerssen

Leerssen, James Richard "Jim" a long time resident of Brooklyn Park, MN passed away peacefully with his family present on December 29th at the age of 71. Jim was born in Edina, MN on 10/23/1947. Jim proudly served in the Air Force and he enjoyed hunting, mechanics, classic cars and computers. He was a gentle soul, witty and a man of honesty and integrity. His love for the military and family and friends defined his life. He will be missed by all. Jim is survived by his wife Kathryn (Kay) Leerssen, daughter, Angela (Chad) Herr of Shoreview, MN and son Robert Leerssen of Buffalo, MN. 3 grandchildren; Jarod Leerssen (18), Brody Herr (12) and Linkin Herr (9) and many relatives and good friends. Memorial Service will be held on Monday January 7th, 2019 at Parkway United Church of Christ 3120 Washburn Ave. N. in North Minneapolis. Visitation from 10:30 11:30 Memorial Service at 11:30 and Celebration of Life to follow services. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
